Otter - Help

Oh my gooshness lol Someone hit an otter on the road and I got it. I actually don't know if it's legal, though... Probably not. Most neat things are not. Also why I'm posting here, if anyone knows if it's illegal or not to pick up a roadkill otter in Florida.

It's pretty big and I believe it to be male.

Also, it kind of has a little bit of smell, but I don't know if it's just the otter (though it smells more like rot than anything...) but it was hit at 12:30 today, and my dad picked it up an hour later and put it in a cooler with ice. The ice kind of melted but was still cool. Now it's 6pm and we put fresh ice in it. If anything I want the bones, but the hide would be cool, too. Is late-summer otter fur all right to harvest?
